Akala is one of my top emcees from the UK and overall. He has always kept it 100 from when I first heard "War" on channel U. The video and song was inspiring and I have been a supporter ever since. Many probably would not know it but real music is underground not in the mainstream. But having listened to Akala's new mixtape "Knowledge Is Power" I will have to say songs like "Educated Thug S**t" "Absolute Power" "Are You An Mc?" "Otherside" if these songs are marketed the way the average commercial song is marketed then Akala would have Top 5 hits.

This mixtape as a few features like Jaja Soze, English Frank, Durty Goodz, Logic and Selah. All these artists represent what I call real music. What I mean by that is music that speaks to the soul, no gimmicks just words and instrumentation with passion and heart.

What I like about this mixtape is the topics that get you to think. So you have to keep listening to this mixtape because you will pick up on things. It is easy for me to say I would like to see a video to "Otherside" and "Are You an Mc?" but truth is it is the music content that is more important. I would give this a 5/5 and recommend you download it.

Keep up to date with Akala via his official website:
