Nigerian, UK born artist Versatile, has released a new
single “Miscarriage” after only releasing “Addiction” last year. There is also
a contrast in sound, with a more acoustic laid back vibe, to match the tone of
the lyrics. This is a song that many can

LL Cool J needs no introduction if you have not heard about him. Then you must be living in another dimension. Truth is when he made his previous album "Exit 13" I thought it was is last. In a way I am glad it was not. His new album "Authentic Hip Hop" is set for release in February 2013. Which features his new song/video "Take It" The funny thing about this is I remember LL released a video for "Ratchet" and I tweeted something about it mentionin...
Mon£y Mike is a UK artist that I have known personally for a few years. This will be an unbiased view I promise. I have known him via another friend of mine Omari who you see in the beginning of this video. Who also produced this song and the CEO of BossClick Entertainment. This song is also featuring Checkmate another UK artist. What I like about this song is real music just listen to the verses especially what Mon£y Mike says. I like his flow ... Continue reading ...
Birdie Brietling is an up and coming UK artist. This is his version/unofficial remix of 50 cent's smash single featuring former G-Unit soldiete Oliver "So Amazing" There is something great about music. It has no time on it. This could be released now and it will still be amazing and hit Top 10 with the right promotion. However knowing that the official song is old it still is refreshing to hear someone else's take on it. The lyrics is something we all...
KC is an artist affiliated with PDC Ent. Just to give you a brief insight in case you do not know, there was a time when UK Rap just seemed unacceptable and everyone was doing UK Garage or UK Grime, but PDC on the other hand were actually rapping to a slower tempo. PDC for me are like G-Unit they keep it all the way gutter always 100. Plus they just have a sound that immediately you know that is PDC. Now most of you probably would have heard of Ja...
MC Dubh is an artist from Ireland. Which automatically any artist from Ireland especially who is involved with Hip Hop Culture always gives 100% real rawness. Arguably one of the most famous Irish Hip Hop group are Cypress Hill and House of Pain. Which this song and video reminds me of. MC Dubh still has a unique style but the great thing is the feeling I get watching and listening.
I will give this 5/5. It is not easy finding real raw talent like...
Who would have thought Skepta would have collaborated with Megaman from So Solid. I personally did not see this happening. Many of you know I grew up on So Solid and I can only say this so many times that they broke down the door for the mainstream industry and gave people actually hope other then just being depressed and ish. Well that is me personally I feel more comfortable writing over a UK Garage and early UK Grime instrumental.
Not long ago I did a review on Black The Ripper's new mixtape "Black Is Beautiful 2" Now it is only right I did a review on his video for "This Is For" featuring another UK legend Dot Rotten.
First of all this song is too real and the video is what I believe is making the UK scene look good. Filmed by SB.TV. With this video I feel there is more unity. There are a whole bag of artists and other affiliates within the industry. If you follow the UK ...
Music is music "Let's Do Something Real" is by an artist from the U.S called "Tha Kid Profit". I like many other people can profit in the long run listening to real music like this. His flow and content is not what I expected. He is actually better than most mainstream so called rappers. Plus the video many other people can relate to. I won't go into it because you have to watch it to see. I expect to see and hear more from this artist. This song ...
50 cent is one of my biggest influences because of he is true hustler. It has been a while since fif released an official mainstream album. But he is definitely getting back to that routine releasing his second single "First Date" featuring Hip Hop veteran Too Short. It weren't that long ago that Harvey was on Celebrity Big Brother. But has predicted I knew he would eventually jump back on the music wave. Who better to feature than Mr Jetski himself aka Sneakbo. To be honest I have not heard much of Sneakbo stuff but he sure is making a name for himself. It is good to see the older generation working with the younger generation it brings a new and great energy to the industry.
Where do I begin with the MOBO Awards 2012. Let's start with ever since So Solid Crew came and shone on stage sweeping up a lot of awards. The MOBOs have never been the same. Much like how the music industry is now. This is no disrespect to the organizers but this year was just plain shit. Nothing really memorable. I mean yes after So Solid there have been many shows where the performances were great but nothing special. This year I salute Angel, Eme...
Black The Ripper is back with a brand new mixtape "Black Is Beautiful 2". Jammed back with 13 smash tracks. There is no need for me to really say anything. Why? Because if you look at the mixtape cover it is of Elizabeth Windsor known as queen of England to many quoting the name of the mixtape. Just from that you would already know something epic is inside. The content has to be real and pure. Especially if you do not know of Black The Ripper I will ...
Xzibit is what you call a "rap veteran" so when he released his latest album "Napalm" supporters already know what to expect. He is always raw, straight up gritty rapping from the heart and soul. For those who do not know Xzibit this album would be a nice introduction to what he is about.
He has features with new artists Wiz Khalifha, there is even collaboration with B-Real, E-40, Slim The Mobster, Game and more. I appreciate every single track but i...
JJ Melody is one of the few artists that I can say is all round talented from engineering, to emceeing, singing and a whole lot more. JJ Melody has worked with the likes of Bizniz Beatz in the past.
I will get straight to the point with "The Black Box" he is definitely something that you should listen to if you genuinely support real raw talent. I grew up in the 90's era and I am very much intoxicated by the sounds, the whole vibe. What I app...
K Koke is back featuring another UK vocalist Maverick Sabre with the song/video "Turn Back". The past 3 years K Koke has been the name that was top of the pile in the underground scene. Reason being because he raps from the heart and soul. No gimmicks just 100% real ish. So much so he is now signed a deal with Jay-Z's Roc Nation.
"Turn Back" is set to be released November 25th and his debut album in 2013. This video is simply a short-film. I will n...
Where do I start JJC Skillz is Nigerian artist who was in a UK music group Big Brovaz who had numerous hits. Years later he is back at it again this time in his native land Nigeria. To cut all the long story his new single "African Skank" is a certified banger, which is an Electro new skool Afro-Beat. I may not like the term skank anymore but this song and video has that feel good vibe to it. Naturally that is how we Africans are just people who w...
Tiwa Savage the first lady of Mavin Records is back with a brand new video/song "Ife Wa Gbona" featuring fellow Nigerian musician Leo Wonder. I realize that many will be able to translate the title of this track and the majority of the lyrics in this song. It means Our Love Is Strong. Which you can evidently see in the video that is very well directed.
Ever since I first heard about Tiwa Savage she never disappoints me she produces beautiful music ...
UK Emcee Casso Blax is back with a brand new video/song "Ready To Go" the video is directed by Konstantin Ermakov and the music production by Rapsz Katai productions. I will get straight to the point when I call someone an emcee that is because they have skill that resonates with a varied demographic audience within the Hip Hop Culture. What I rate about Casso Blax is he is consistent and he works very hard.
Kanye West presents G.O.O.D Music: Cruel Summer. This long awaited album is finally here. First week sales shifted over 200,000 units which is good considering the current climate in the music industry today. But before I go any further G.O.O.D is an acronym for Getting Out Our Dreams. This label is owned by super producer/artist Kanye West. The album consists of Big Sean, 2 Chainz, Common, Pusha T, Teyana Taylor, D'Banj, Jay Z...etc This album came...
DMX is truly back with is 7th studio album "Undisputed" and he has every right to title his album Undisputed. From day he has represented real music. Music that comes from within his soul and heart. You can hear that from every single verse and hook he has ever released. Whether that be a hyped up song or a real hip hop soulful track. Truth is this album gets a straight 5/5 DMX is a veteran he has been creating music for years. It is very difficult f...
As it goes in the UK we have a lot of female artists that are seriously talented and if you do not know about Shimmer you will now. Shimmer presents her new mixtape "Easy Like Sundae?"
I will give it 4/5 I love the flow and the content. It is not that easy to impress me these days when it comes to music. I am very critical. The cover also stands out bright pink and I knew of Shimmer before Nicki Minaj decided to do the same. But Shimmer is no gimmic...
Armegedon Now is a UK artist that represents real music. His mixtape "The Realms of Chaos" features many other artists like Zulu, Ellis, Rick Fury, and many more. I would definitely recommend anyone who is ready to hear real content over UK Grime sounds to download and have listen. I personally feel in my opinion that the delivery in a few songs could have been done with a lot more conviction. But there were a few songs that had that spark and energy ...
Let me start by saying I am very fortunate to come across real people who make real music. STP which stands for Stack That Paper & Struggle To Proceed consists of talented invdividuals Cassper, Timbo, Yung Talee, Clapz Capone, Rugez, and Moneyy Mitchell. This is their debut mixtape and it is hosted by DJ Kenny.
Toddla T one of the UK's elite music producers has gathered Cleo Sol and Scrufizzer for this summer club banger "Code To Crack". In all honesty this song takes me back to pre-teen days when I first was hearing about Jungle Music. It was so energized and the irony is I remember clearly it was summer time when I first heard Jungle music.
I know I like to talk about myself a lot. But truth be told this song is perfect and I mean perfect for Carnival ... Continue reading ...

But having listened to Akala's new mixtape "Knowledge Is Power" I will have to say songs like "Educated Thug S**t" "Absolute Power" "Are You An Mc?" "Otherside...

Wiley needs to introduction but I will say it anyway. Wiley is one of the founding fathers of UK Grime. I have personally followed his career since the UK Garage were mainstream, from when he was in Pay As You Go Cartel/Crew. From when he made Eski Beats/Sound, the days of Rolldeep vs So Solid. I always had high respect but for Wiley has he keeps bringing other artists in. Most UK artists like Tinchy Stryder to Dizzee Rascal, to Chip aka Chipmunk and a whole lot more.

"Educated Tug S**t" is taken from Akala's mixtape "Knowledge Is Power Vol 1" which feature another UK Rapper English Frank. No I take that back Akala and English Frank are not rappers I would call them emcees. Why because this song is just one of the main reasons.
The video has cameo appearances from the likes of Logic another UK emcee. What I like about the UK scene is the unity. 10 years ago UK Hip Hop was not being embraced like this. But most importantly is the messa...

Let's get to the target. "Target" is the brand new single from Baby Blue and it is produced by UK legend Nutty P his work is always on point. This track is perfect assuming Baby Blue's ta...

This song/video features a host of talents from Renee Soul who gives that soulful beautiful smoothness to the song, with also Logic, Mike GLC and Cerose. I had the privilege of interviewing Twissman a while back when I was at Reprezent Radio and he is one of the most down to earth bruddas you will meet/hear. To cut all long reading this "Heart Beat" song and video is artistic. I like how bold Kleo is with her image and words. A lot of people can definitely relate to a song like this.

Danelle Harvey and Rhythm Rhyme Revolution present a song entitled "Colour". Which was released on 13th July 2012. Just looking at the artwork alone is very intriguing. But in all honesty this is the type of music that is relevant. I love the lyrics "Please don't hate me by the colour of my skin" and the instrumentation behind it. Reminds of original Afro Beats/High Life.
