MISCARRIAGE IN HIP HOP

Nigerian, UK born artist Versatile, has released a new single “Miscarriage” after only releasing “Addiction” last year. There is also a contrast in sound, with a more acoustic laid back vibe, to match the tone of the lyrics. This is a song that many can relate to. The song is very short but catchy. With story-line verses that follow, two different females from different walks of life, going through the stages. The production is from Danny Alex and Fo. His inspiration stems from his own personal experience and artists like Slick Rick. “Miscarriage” is available to download from all good digital retailers including, itunes, google play, and Spotify…etc. A short film/music video and documentary is to follow shortly.

Versatile first started initially embarking his music career in 2004. Since then he has released several mixtapes, and a few music videos. His notable releases are, “Whatz My Name? (Versatile Anthem)”, “I Rep UK”, “Letter To My Papz” and “Addiction”.

AUTHENTIC HIP HOP COMING BACK IN THE MAINSTREAM SO TAKE IT

LL Cool J needs no introduction if you have not heard about him. Then you must be living in another dimension. Truth is when he made his previous album "Exit 13" I thought it was is last. In a way I am glad it was not. His new album "Authentic Hip Hop" is set for release in February 2013. Which features his new song/video "Take It" The funny thing about this is I remember LL released a video for "Ratchet" and I tweeted something about it mentioning his twitter name. He replied back and I was actually shocked. Long story short I replied back saying we want that old skool LL Cool J sound. To my dismay he replied back saying don't worry I got you. Did I doubt him nope. Not when I know his album was going to be Authentic Hip Hop seeing as there is so many versions and the current commercial crap that has been out there the media is claiming its Hip Hop. So LL Cool J is one of the few who are saving the culture in the mainstream.

"Take It" is just that it has that Authentic early 2000's sound and feel to it. What do you expect from LL Cool J featuring Joe Thomas. Even the video has the same type of feel to it. I do like the video girl/young lady can only wish that is her natural hair and she was all the round fine. But the video is authentic, and the song is authentic. I say go out and support Authentic Hip Hop and the song in general make number 1 or at least Top 10. This is definitely 5/5. We have a choice choose the right option.

Mon£y Mike is a UK artist that I have known personally for a few years. This will be an unbiased view I promise. I have known him via another friend of mine Omari who you see in the beginning of this video. Who also produced this song and the CEO of BossClick Entertainment. This song is also featuring Checkmate another UK artist. What I like about this song is real music just listen to the verses especially what Mon£y Mike says. I like his flow and Checkmate flow also. I also appreciate the edit in this video. The way they have gang-bangers in the video just seemed to fit in well. You already know that I appreciate videos that have content. So overall I would give this 4/5 wish it could have been longer in all honesty. But there is more to come believe that.

Birdie Brietling is an up and coming UK artist. This is his version/unofficial remix of 50 cent's smash single featuring former G-Unit soldiete Oliver "So Amazing"

There is something great about music. It has no time on it. This could be released now and it will still be amazing and hit Top 10 with the right promotion. However knowing that the official song is old it still is refreshing to hear someone else's take on it. The lyrics is something we all can relate to at one point or a few points in our life's. The question is what's next for Birdie Brietling? We will have to wait and see. But I will give this 4/5.

TIME 2 GET IT STRAIGHT WE ALL DESERVE A SMILE ON OUR FACES

KC is an artist affiliated with PDC Ent. Just to give you a brief insight in case you do not know, there was a time when UK Rap just seemed unacceptable and everyone was doing UK Garage or UK Grime, but PDC on the other hand were actually rapping to a slower tempo. PDC for me are like G-Unit they keep it all the way gutter always 100. Plus they just have a sound that immediately you know that is PDC. Now most of you probably would have heard of Jaja Soze and definitely DVS, well now it is time for KC to have his shine of cult success and popularity. Now that everyone in the UK is taking UK Rap serious.

This video has two songs "Smile On My Face" and "Time To Get It Straight". I personally like both songs his lyrics are just real. You can always tell the real from the fake and believe me if you want genuine music with artists talking about road life then KC is one of those artists I highly recommend to listen to and support. 2013 I see big things happening for KC. I will give the songs 5/5 and the video 2/5 as someone who films videos I would have made it more creative but who cares this is real music that is all that matters.

20 YEARS LATER RAP HAS COME BACK TO IRELAND MC DUBH WILL TELL YOU WHY

MC Dubh is an artist from Ireland. Which automatically any artist from Ireland especially who is involved with Hip Hop Culture always gives 100% real rawness. Arguably one of the most famous Irish Hip Hop group are Cypress Hill and House of Pain. Which this song and video reminds me of. MC Dubh still has a unique style but the great thing is the feeling I get watching and listening.

I will give this 5/5. It is not easy finding real raw talent like this. Let's hope MC Dubh keeps up the consistency and releases his music on itunes and eventually start doing shows all over.

Who would have thought Skepta would have collaborated with Megaman from So Solid. I personally did not see this happening. Many of you know I grew up on So Solid and I can only say this so many times that they broke down the door for the mainstream industry and gave people actually hope other then just being depressed and ish. Well that is me personally I feel more comfortable writing over a UK Garage and early UK Grime instrumental.

I got carried away. Skepta from Boy Better Know teamed up with Megaman from So Solid to bring you "We Begin Things" taken from Skepta's new mixtape "Blacklisted" This song I would give 5 out 5 the lyrics if you listen closely they are telling us some real ish that not many people nowadays really actually expresses over UK Grime beats let alone Rap. It also reminds me of the old skool days I mean like 2001 -2005 era that sound was Grimey and gets you hyped. The video maybe could have been better at the beginning with Megaman speaking directly to an MP or something but never the less the video reminds me of "Ride Wit Us", "They Don't Know" with the racing. It would be good if So Solid actually did a whole EP again. With Harvey teaming up with Sneakbo, Ashley Walters doing his thing, Lisa Maffia and Romeo releasing a few materials I think it maybe time for the world to hear that innovative sound that has been missing from the music industry and not only that I like how there is unity within the UK scene. From every level. But other then that get "Blacklisted" from this link.

BLACK THE RIPPER AND DOT ROTTEN ARE FOR THE PEOPLE

Not long ago I did a review on Black The Ripper's new mixtape "Black Is Beautiful 2" Now it is only right I did a review on his video for "This Is For" featuring another UK legend Dot Rotten.

First of all this song is too real and the video is what I believe is making the UK scene look good. Filmed by SB.TV. With this video I feel there is more unity. There are a whole bag of artists and other affiliates within the industry. If you follow the UK scene you would recognize the likes of Bashy, K Koke, No Lay, Charlie Sloth, Lady Leshurr, Rodney P, even retired Lowkey made an appearance. There are a few more I let you do the finding whose in it. As far the video itself, it is very unique in the way I did not expect to see these people rapping Black The Ripper's words throughout the whole video. It is good to see people within the industry to support real raw talent. I give this video 5/5 it would be great if this video reached over 1 million before 2012 Gregorian calender is over. This Is For the people so make sure you support.

THA KID PROFIT IS DEFINITELY DOING SOMETHING REAL

Music is music "Let's Do Something Real" is by an artist from the U.S called "Tha Kid Profit". I like many other people can profit in the long run listening to real music like this. His flow and content is not what I expected. He is actually better than most mainstream so called rappers. Plus the video many other people can relate to. I won't go into it because you have to watch it to see. I expect to see and hear more from this artist. This song really reminds me of Lupe Fiasco's "Lasers" album. Which by the way I felt was incredible the way it was produced. I would give this song and video 5/5 a must watch.

50 CENT AND TOO SHORT KNOWS LIFE IS TOO SHORT

50 cent is one of my biggest influences because of he is true hustler. It has been a while since fif released an official mainstream album. But he is definitely getting back to that routine releasing his second single "First Date" featuring Hip Hop veteran Too Short. From his album "Street King Immortal" In fact it was only a week ago when 50 cent released a video for "Money" taken from his mixtape "Murder By Numbers". Some may argue this aint 50 but this reminds me of the "Curtis" album era. Which that album still had numerous hits. But many want Fif to be on that gangsta ish not realizing he has evolved.

This video having a bit more quality but overall I will give the song and video 4/5. The song is very catchy and is difinitely relatable. Example he quotes "I don't want a good, good, good girl" and me personally I don't want a good girl I even had the opportunity to move to a good girl earlier in the day but I sensed she was a good girl so left her. But in all essence every guy wants to fuck on the first date but certain girls like to prolong the situation. Maybe this will influence more girls that life is too short to wait.
