Chip - League Of My Own II (Album Review)

Chip as really transitioned from a Grime MC to a fully fledged quality artist.

If you doubted man like Chip. Then this album will wake you up. Just press play from the start. You will hear banger after banger after banger.

If you were already paying attention. He dropped a few videos from the album. All of which each video comments I saw for once were rating him.

What he has is content, flow, and different styles. Which makes him an incredible that is not trying to just stick to one sound. He just naturally does him. I don’t think there is any artist in the UK right now that can pull off doing different genres and create bangers. We done know already he ain’t trying to fit in the commercial scene. But there are tracks on there that would definitely get airplay. Like the one with Loick Essien.

I honestly can’t tell you my favourite one. But the feature with Giggs is mwaaaaad. I guess I could say Family is definitely one of my favourites. 34 Shots super banger, the feature with Ghetts, Scene is another monster track.

So without a doubt I give this 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Chip has raised the levels. From League Of My Own to I Am Chipmunk to Transition and all his EPs and mixtapes the brudda has shown what 10+ years of hardwork and talent looks like. I definitely hear growth.

Nu Brand Flexxx - Siri (Music Video review)

Yeeeeahhhh fam it’s time for that rangoose 😂😂😂

If you don’t know then that is from an old video/song from Nu Brand Flexxx. That used to get mwad plays on Channel U.

Bllluuuuuuuud are you dumb? This song goes in super ‘ard. They just know how to make bangers. This song is a social commentary on the relationship between police and residents in urban areas.

You would get that straight away from the hook that is super catchy. Then you have the video that compliments the song. The last video I saw where they filmed outside car scrap yard was Young Buck but that was what 10 years ago or more. Ironing it’s been 10 years since I last saw a Nu Brand Flexxx video.

Good to see they are back. But just like I said with Lisa Maffia. But for how long?

So on that note I give this a 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 ok yh I got carried away but I rate this highly.

Big Narstie - Smoke (Music Video review)

Big Narstie is one of those artists who you wonder why he hasn’t blown yet in the mainstream. He puts in the work and has been consistent from his N Double A days.

This song is too real. It’s not Grime but it is just simply a song that many can relate to. I don’t smoke but what the song is about many who goes through stress and mental agony in life will definitely relate.

The video is decent still. He always comes up with something fresh, and something different.

So on that note I give this a 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Chip ft Wiley, Jammer, D Double E, JME, and Miraa May - Scene (Music Video review)

Another video from League Of My Own 2 album. Chip never disappoints. This time on the features he has other veterans in the scene.

So I expected this to be an instant banger. But you know what they have a vocalist on the bridge and she goes by the name of Miraa May. That was unexpected but it worked.

I have no favourite verse. They all went in. But Wiley had a few bars that had me thinking he has stepped up his lyrical play. The bar that got me was “Bro, I took the roads that was risky” Guess who part filmed this video? Yeah Risky Roadz

The video was done in the iconic place where the early starts of LOTM (Lord Of The Mics).

Apart from that the visuals are perfect for the concept of the song. So at least some youngers can see the levels of the scene and how it continuously growing.

So on that note I give this a 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Chip you monster. Chip can’t run out of bangers no wonder he has been in the scene for just over a decade.

Lowkey ft Mai Khalil - Ghosts of Grenfell (Music Video review)

I knew Lowkey would eventually do a track or speak on this. Apparently he has been booked to do another Fire In The Booth. So I was expecting that he would address the Grenfell Tower Fire tragedy.

There is no words that I can say on how deep this track is. So emotional and very well produced with Mai Khalil producing her vocals that to me I always felt she sings like an angel. Her vocals and the way she sings sends shivers down my spine and makes my heart tremble.

One line that got me was “They are immortalised forever, the only ghosts are us”

The video is just spectacular. It’s not what I expected but it is very creative and it matches well with the song.

So overall I will give this a 5/5 I can’t rate this using the symbol I normally use. It is very inappropriate. But thank you Lowkey and Mai Khalil once again providing music for the soul.

Lisa Maffia - Wah Gwarn (Music Video review)

Wah Gwarn? Is Lisa Maffia really back or will she drop one more track and disappear for another 4-5 years?

I’m being serious. The First Lady aka Queen of Garage needs to stay. Especially if she continues making more Garage tracks. When I first heard this, the beat draws you in. You instantly get hooked and then catch yourself singing the hook. Which Wah Gwarn Lisa? Since when you speak Yoruba?

I think that is what makes this song even more interesting is she singing in Yoruba as well.

Now the video, 🤔…I like the round mirror effect. Like what you see in supermarkets or off licences. Also there are a diverse of people there. I am a fan of graffiti art. Which you will see in the video background.

I just hope people will catch on. Can the Queen of Garage create back a lane in the mainstream amongst Grime, Rap, and Drill…etc? I know if this was the late 90s this would tear up the clubs and be a sure Top 20.

The song and video definitely as a 90s feel to it. So without being biased. I give this 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Fekky - El Clasico (Album Review)

As strange as it may sound this is Fekky’s debut album. This goes to show you that great artists take their time and don’t allow the pressure to deliver the so called norm of releasing an album when your buzz is super high. Even Stormzy took his time.

Tbh I can’t remember when I first heard of Fekky. But what I do remember was how super unique he was with his tone, flow and ad libs.

Let’s get straight into the album. It is packed with 18 tracks. The stand out tracks for me are:

- Avirex ft Chip and MC Neutrino.
- Call Me Again ft Ghetts
- Gossip ft Giggs
- Way Too Much ft Skepta

Fekky got mwad features on his album. But even if he didn’t have these features the production quality alone solidifies this as a classic in the making. It’s too early to say. But without a doubt I enjoyed listening to this album.

His interview on NFTR, actually made me more aware of what to expect. Even though before hand I kind of already knew because of his previous material.

So on that note I give this 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

J Hus - Spirit (Music Video Review)

J Hus, what can I say about this brudda? This track is not only catchy but the song has a deep emotional connect.

Straight from the hook and the instrumentation it is pure fire.

But the video. Yo, fam he shot this in Ghana. When I tell you that the UK scene has been growing from strength to strength from changing their locations to going international at the same time building their global fan base. It was only common sense that because of his roots and because of the track itself this had to be filmed in Ghana. He has people of different ages in the video.

I like the overall concept and best of all I like the track.

So overall I will give this 🇬🇭🇬🇭🇬🇭🇬🇭🇬🇭
